He graduated with a degree in exercise physiology from Springfield in 1998 and started his career as a as well as working as a chauffeur for a limousine company.He currently works for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), wrestling on its RAW brand, where he is the reigning WWE Champion. In WWE, he is also a three-time United States Champion and a one-time World Tag Team Champion.

John Felix Anthony Cena popularly known by the name John Cena is an American professional wrestler, hip hop music artist and an actor. He is the second eldest son of Mrs. Carol Cena and Mr. John Cena Sr. He was born on April 23, 1977 in West Newbury, Massachusetts, USA. He completed his graduation from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. After completing his graduation he pursued a degree in exercise physiology from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He used to play football in his college days and was placed in Division III (NCAA) All America centre on college football team.

John Cena after pursuing degree in exercise physiology began to pursue a career in bodybuilding and professional wrestling. He began his career as a professional wrestler by joining Ultimate Pro Wrestling’s (UPW) ‘Ultimate University’ for training in 2000. He uses the name ‘The Prototype’ in UPW and won UPW Heavyweight Championship in April 2000 and caught the WWF’s (now called WWE) attention. In 2001, he signed a contract with WWF and joined its development territory Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He uses the name The Prototype and Mr. P inside the ring in OVW. On August 15, 2001 he won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship with Rico Constantino. His second major win in OVW comes on February 20, 2002 when he won OVW Heavyweight Championship.

John Cena moved to the WWE’s main stream in June 2002 where he signed to SmackDown brand. He debuted for SmackDown on June 26, 2002 where he accepted the open challenge of Kurt Angle and gave him a very tough fight. He lost the match to Kurt Angle after a near win. His first title win comes on March 14, 2004 in WrestleManiaXX where he beat Big Show in singles match to win the WWE United States Championship. Cena remained little bit unlucky in Royal Rumble in 2005, where after making it to the final two, he lost the match from Batista. He won his first World Championship on April 3, 2005 in WrestleMania 21 where he beat John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) in singles match. After that match JBL created a controversy saying that he still is the World Champion as original World Champion belt is with him. John faced the JBL in ‘Judgment Day (2005)’ in the ‘I quit’ match and took the original belt from JBL after defeating him in that match.

John was moved to the Raw Band on June 6, 2005 after the annual draft lottery. Cena faced a controversy and began a feud with Raw’s General Manager Eric Bischof, soon after moving to Raw. The feud arose when Cena refused to participate in the “war” against the ECW at One Night Stand (2005). Bischof picked Chris Jericho to face John Cena in You’re Fired match on August 22 episode of Raw. John Cena beat Jericho and made his position safe in Raw. Cena lost the WWE Championship to Kurt Angle after disqualification in singles match at Unforgiven (2005) on September 18. John took back the championship from Kurt Angle after defeating him in the singles match at Survivor Series on November 27, 2005. Cena successfully defend the championship at Elimination Chamber match of New Year’s Revolution (2006) by defeating Kurt Angle, Kane, Chris Masters, Carlito and Shawn Michaels. Soon after the elimination chamber match John faced Edge in the singles match and lost the match along with championship to Edge.

Cena regained the title (WWE Championship) from Edge by defeating him in the singles match at the Royal Rumble (2006) on January 29. He also won his first World Tag Team Championship with Shawn Michaels after defeating Randy Orton and Edge. Cena after defending the WWE Championship for more than four months lost it to Rob Van Dam in the Extreme Rules match at ECW One Night Stand on June 11, 2006. Cena faced Edge in the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at Unforgiven on September 17, 2006. Cena defeated Edge after 25 minutes and 28 seconds long fight and regained the WWE Championship and become the champion for third time.

Cena injured his pectoral muscle in the match against Mr. Kennedy on October 1, 2007 episode of Raw and remained out of action for about three months. Due to that injury Cena was stripped of the title on October 2, 2007 at ECW on Sci-fi after successfully defending the WWE Championship for more than a year. He was back to the action on January 27, 2008 in the Royal Rumble match at Royal Rumble (2008). He won that match by last eliminating Triple H. John Cena challenged Randy Orton for WWE Championship and faced him in singles match at No Way Out on February 17, 2008. John Cena won that match by the disqualification of Randy Orton. Due to disqualification Orton remained successful in retaining the Championship. On August 4 episode of Raw, Cena and Batista won the World Tag Team championship from Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, which they lost back to them after a week.

John Cena won his first Heavy Weight Championship on November 23, 2008 by defeating Chris Jericho in singles match in Survivor Series. John Cena regained the WWE Championship on September 13, 2009 by defeating Randy Orton in I Quit match in Breaking Point. Cena soon lost the championship back to Orton in the Hell in a Cell match on October 4. Cena regained the Championship from Orton once again in same month in Anything Goes Iron Man match in Bragging Rights (2009).

At Bragging Rights (2010) John Cena along with The Nexus and David Otunga defeated Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre in Tag Team match to win WWE Tag Team Championship. Cena won the WWE championship for the sixth time on February 21, 2010 after beating Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, Triple H & Sheamus, in the elimination chamber match. In WrestleMania XXVI Cena become the champion for the seventh time after beating Batista in singles match. John is reigning WWE Champion from May 1, 2011 after beating The Miz & John Morrison in a Steel Cage Triple Threat match.

John Cena in his ongoing wrestling career of about eleven years has won 17 Championships. He was awarded with the ‘Best Gimmick Award in 2003; ‘Wrestler of the Year Award’ in 2007 and 2010. He was continuously awarded with ‘Most Charismatic Wrestler Award’ from 2006 to 2010. He was also awarded with the ‘Most Charismatic Wrestler of the Decade’.

John apart from appearing in wrestling ring began to appear in movies in 2006. He played the role of U.S. Marine ‘John Triton’ in his debut movie The Marine. After the success of his first movie The Marine John appeared in movies 12 Rounds, Psych, True Jackson, VP, Legendary and Family Reunion etc. John Cena is a wrapper (hip-hop) musician as well. John Cena used to perform his wrap song ‘The Time is Now’ as his Theme Song in many wrestling matches. John Cena with his first cousin Tha Trademarc performed in his first music album ‘You Can’t See Me’ in 2005. He sung a song ‘The Untouchables’ for album WWE ThemeAddict: The Music, Vol. 6.
